The Sérénité Restaurant and Culinary Institute is at the core of the Recovery Center program and offers a unique and innovative approach to addiction recovery which encompasses a 12-month training program, teaching techniques of the American Culinary Federation Certified Culinarian Curriculum. The program can accommodate up to 12 students at one time who rotate through a curriculum that includes classes on all aspects of the culinary and hospitality industry, kitchen and culinary skills and front of house training. Tuition is free and students receive an income during training and job placement assistance.

Approximately twice a year we accept a new class of 6 students. To be accepted into the program you must be at least 18 years of age, committed to continuing recovery from drugs and alcohol addiction and able to work and attend the classes throughout the 12-month program.

Twice a year we accept a new class of 6 students. The students and participants range in age from their early 20’s to 50’s and most have been incarcerated for drug and alcohol offenses. We generally have around 12 students in the Culinary Institute a year.

Many of our participants are married and have children and they are seeking to live a sober life and to better provide for their families. We are delighted to report we have graduated 45 students since inception of the Culinary Institute (2018), all of whom have been employed in the culinary profession.

The key to success is the peer and other support the student receives during and after their time in the program.  Hope Recovery Community provides a great deal of our programing and the students day to day program routine.

Students are held to a high standard of excellence in their culinary training which will enable them to acquire jobs in restaurants offering higher wages that will support a family. RCMC is a safe place that extends continual recovery support helping our clients achieve their full potential.
